We’re Hiring a Business Development Manager!

About Geosapiens

Geosapiens is a fast-growing Canadian company specializing in high-resolution climate risk modeling. We develop advanced solutions across floods, wildfires, and other extreme climate perils, helping organizations better assess, price, and manage risk. Our products, delivered via SaaS platforms, APIs, and data services, turn complex climate data into actionable insights. While we primarily serve the insurance industry, we also work with financial institutions, asset managers, real estate organizations, and public sector clients.

Joining Geosapiens means having a direct impact in a scaling company where your ideas matter and where you’ll help bring innovative solutions to market.

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will generate new business and grow existing relationships across the Canadian insurance market, including insurers and MGAs. This strategic, consultative role sits at the intersection of insurance, data, technology, and climate risk. It is well suited to someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, navigating complex topics, and selling solutions that support underwriting, risk management, and business decisions.

You will lead opportunities from initial identification through close, while also driving growth within existing accounts and supporting renewals. Working closely with product, analytics, and leadership teams, you will help bring solutions to market and contribute to long-term customer success. Depending on your experience and scope, this role may be considered at the Senior Business Development Manager level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing new business opportunities

  • Build and manage a pipeline across the Canadian insurance market

  • Represent Geosapiens at industry conferences and events to strengthen brand presence, build relationships, and generate qualified leads

  • Manage a portfolio of B2B insurance customers as their primary commercial contact

  • Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers

  • Identify opportunities for account growth, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities

  • Lead customer reviews, reporting, and strategic account discussions

  • Maintain accurate CRM data and use it effectively to manage pipeline activity and customer interactions

  • Contribute to Revenue Operations by providing reliable pipeline data, customer insights, and feedback to support forecasting, performance analysis, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, ideally in insurance, financial services, or technology; account management experience is an asset

  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort managing long sales cycles

  • Ability to communicate value clearly to senior stakeholders

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and commercial storytelling skills

  • Curious, self-driven, and comfortable selling complex solutions

  • Experience in the Canadian insurance market is a strong asset

  • Bilingual in English and French

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of climate risk and its applications in insurance or financial services

  • Familiarity with software platforms and systems used in insurance and banking

  • Experience with HubSpot, including CRM, pipeline management, reporting, and automation

  • Interest in geography, the environment, climate, and complex global systems

  • Comfort working with analytical, technical, or data-driven products

What you can expect from us

  • A stimulating and innovative work environment

  • Competitive compensation aligned with your experience and performance

  • A benefits package tailored to your needs

  • Opportunities for professional development and growth within the company
