Science-Driven Climate
Risk Models

Geosapiens’ risk models stand out for their precision and adaptability, providing comprehensive coverage and representation of risks from all types of floods as well as wildfires.

Each model is built to capture the unique challenges of every hazard, delivering deeper insights and supporting more effective risk management.

Geosapiens’ locally calibrated flood models deliver unparalleled accuracy, with three models specifically designed to address the unique challenges of each type of flooding:

  • Fluvial Floods

  • Pluvial Floods

  • Coastal Floods

Geosapiens’ wildfire model leverages artificial intelligence to assess wildfire risks.
It draws on more than 70 variables spanning climate, vegetation, topography, and human factors. This approach helps to better identify conditions conducive to wildfires and supports effective risk management.

Financial Loss Model

Geosapiens’ financial model estimates the economic losses associated with floods by analyzing their impacts on properties and portfolios.
It relies on hazard modeling data and insured property characteristics, such as value and type, to produce an estimate of potential damages.

The model outputs include detailed loss estimates at both the property and portfolio level, Annual Average Loss (AAL), Probable Maximum Loss (PML), and other key financial indicators. These results provide insurers and financial institutions with actionable insights to improve underwriting, optimize portfolio management, and strengthen capital planning.

Other Perils

Geosapiens develops and integrates additional risk models and complementary data layers to provide a more comprehensive overview and assessment of natural risks:

  • Earthquake Risk Layers

  • Dynamic layers for hurricanes and weather alerts

  • Dynamic wildfire layers

  • And many other data sources
